About Jenny Abamu and this publication

When I was in fifth grade, my teacher chastised me for being too analytical. I tried to chill out, but that trait never really left me. I love thinking, deeply and publicly.

Worth Mentioning is where I explore the moments, people, and ideas that deepen my understanding of the world, and maybe yours too. Some essays grow out of my reporting, others from books, conversations, or everyday life.

My lens is that of a writer, journalist, mother and former U.S. diplomat.
